Alister Connolly
ITEX Trade Director
alister.connolly@itex.net
About Me
Alister Connolly was born into poverty and misfortune at a workhouse in the industrial district of England. He left the establishment at a very young age after requesting a second helping of soup, and getting sold off for five guineas to anyone that would take him on as an apprentice.
He was taken in by a kind hearted entrepreneur named Verne Troyer who was a mobile hot dog merchant by trade. His establishment, entitled "Hot Dogs Unlimited" required long hours and tedious work, but Verne and Alister found the work strangely fulfilling. Little did Verne know, Alister was destined for greatness.
One day while grinding the entrails of a young suckling pig he thought, "Instead of guessing where all the hot dog hotspots are throughout the business district of London, why don't we have the businesses call us?" And thus Hot Dogs On Demand was born.
The innovative Hot Dogs On Demand business model revolved around catering to the consumer. After a quick phone call to Hot Dog control, a hot dog cart would immediately be dispatched to the caller's place of business and arrive in thirty minutes or less. The employees and passing pedestrians would then enjoy an afternoon of saurkraut shangri la.
As business grew, so did Alister's ambition. He eventually saved enough money to emigrate to the Gold Coast of Fairfield, Connecticut where he pioneered the Hot Dogs On Demand East Coast division. The infusion of beef delivery to Fairfield County has been described as "The Processed Meat Renaissance" and its effects can still be felt today when one walks down Fairfield Avenue.
Unfortunately his business was driven into bankruptcy by his apprentice Sally O'Malley. Due to the fact Alister never patented his revolutionary idea, and his limited knowledge of non-compete agreements, Sally O'Malley was able to break off from "Hot Dogs On Demand" and form her own rival company "Kielbasa on Demand." Because of the superior meat quality of Kielbasa, an aggressive ad campaign sponsored by her father (the CEO of Oscar Meyer), and the fact that Sally was able to obtain a client list of Alister's entire member base and sign up his accounts, Alister's business took a nosedive and he was bought out by Hillshire Farms for an undisclosed six figure sum.
Alister is now a Trade Director at ITEX New England.
